It is also within an hour’s drive of Siena and Florence and the smaller towns of Casole d’Elsa, Colle val d’Elsa, Monteriggioni, Certaldo, and Bolgheri. Lucca, Arezzo and Pisa are also within driving distance as are the wine growing areas of Montepulciano, Montalcino, Castellina in Chianti, Radda and Giaole.

The medieval hill towns in the vicinity of Borgo Pignano have churches and monuments of note and many have small museums and frescoed cloisters. There are thermal springs, Etruscan ruins and tombs, Renaissance palaces, museums and weekly markets.
Pisa and Florence are both about an hour away by car, and we often arrange guided and chauffered day trips to both places.
Nearby Casole d’Elsa and Colle Val d’Elsa are lesser known towns and have their their own quiet charms. The adjoining nature parks of Berignone and Castelvecchio can be reached by foot or mountain bike from Borgo Pignano.
